Veterinary Assistant Opportunity - Join our Cardiology Team!
The Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our growing Cardiology team! This is a unique opportunity to work alongside board-certified cardiologists, experienced RVTs, residents, interns, and veterinary students while caring for patients with a wide variety of cardiovascular diseases. From routine cardiology appointments to advanced procedures and open-heart surgery support, no two days are the same.
This position is being added because the service is growing. Cardiology experience is a plus, but we're happy to train a motivated candidate with a foundation in veterinary medicine and a desire to learn specialty practice.
What You'll Do
As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play an important role in keeping our busy specialty service running smoothly by:
- Supporting outpatient cardiology appointments and diagnostics
- Assisting with patient handling and preparation for echocardiograms, ECGs, and other cardiac procedures
- Helping maintain efficient patient flow and clinic operations
- Supporting faculty, technicians, house officers, and veterinary students in a collaborative teaching environment
- Assisting with administrative tasks, appointment coordination, stocking, and maintaining clinical spaces

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2 years of experience in a veterinary setting, with familiarity in animal handling, client communication, and basic lab techniques.
