Description
Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic is looking to add a compassionate and skilled full-time Emergency Veterinary Technician to our team. At our Rarebreed clinic, you can help reimagine the veterinary experience in your community. Our innovative environment means you'll get to work with specialists of all stripes and practice cutting edge care! As part of our team, you'll work with the latest technology, gain access to state-of-the-art training facilities, and collaborate with a positive team to deliver the highest quality of care to the pet patients we all love.Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic is an emergency clinic originally formed by local veterinarians in hopes of delivering prompt and conscientious emergency care for patients after hours, on weekends, and during holidays. We are fully equipped and provide state-of-the-art care. All of our doctors and technicians have training and experience in emergency care. Our hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 5:30pm-8:00am, Friday 5:30pm-Monday 8:00am (Open 24 hours on Saturday and Sunday). Check us out here: https://emevc.com/
Veterinary Technician
Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic in Brewer, ME
$28.00/hr starting hourly pay rate, commensurate with license and experience
Eligible for quarterly bonuses under Rarebreed's profit-sharing program
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Perform triage evaluation of the condition of a variety of patients
- Create and maintain treatment sheets
- Calculate and administer scheduled medications, continuous infusions, and blood products
- Place and maintain catheters (central and peripheral venous, and urinary)
- Record all treatments and patient status observations
- Charge for all treatments and procedures
- Alert the DVM with any changes in a patient's status
- Perform anesthesia induction, maintenance, and recovery
- Perform radiographs and laboratory analyses
- Interact with clients, provide patient updates, financial updates, and manage patient visits
- Able to comfort, handle and restrain large and small animals

REQUIREMENTS
- 2 years of experience in a veterinary hospital
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong clinical skills
- Detail-oriented and well organized
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Self-motivated and team-oriented
- Credential (LVT, CVT, or RVT) required
