As part of its growing student outreach efforts, in the spring of 2011, the OVMA created 5 for 5 for the Future, an initiative aimed at raising money for student scholarships and programs.
The initiative, approved by the OVMA Board of Directors at its June 2011 meeting, will set aside $5 from every Midwest Veterinary Conference registration for the next five years into a fund to support veterinary and technician student scholarships and programs.
The OVMA estimates that this program will raise $17,500 in revenue each year, for a total nearing $90,000 over the five-year period.
